We study the galactic latitude distribution of rotational velocity of a large sample of about 1 220 evolved stars of luminosity classes IV, III, II and Ib, with spectral types F, G and K. We show that there is a tendency for stars with enhanced rotational velocity to concentrate near the galactic plane. Such a trend is more evident for the more evolved stars. Based on observations collected at the Observatoire de Haute -- Provence (France) and at the European Southern Observatory, La Silla (Chile).
