A simple relationship based on a Newtonian approach is constructed to explain observational results pertaining to the main cosmological parameters. The resulting age of the universe is 14 billion years, while the average mass density is found to be roughly 8 x 10 to the -26th kg/cu m. An open universe with negative curvature results from this approach.
