The bisectors of a number of lines in late-type stellar spectra have been determined by Gray (1983). He has compared different lines in the spectrum of the same star, and, in addition, the same lines in different stars. Two stars of each of four spectral types were compared. For three of the pairs there are no detectable difference in the behavior of the line bisectors. In the case of the fourth pair, Sigma Draconis and 70 Ophiuchi A, there are systematic and substantial differences for each of the six lines discussed. In the present investigation, it is suggested that it may be premature to attribute the discrepancies between the line bisectors of Sigma Dra and 70 Oph A to 'rather large differences in convection' while there is another source of these discrepancies.
