More than 30 microwave spike bursts have been observed with the Siberian Solar Radio Telescope interferometer at 5.7 GHz and resolved in one dimension. It was found that the apparent size of spike burst sources reaches unexpectedly high values of several tens of arcseconds and increases toward the solar limb. The center-to-limb variation of the source size is explained by scattering on plasma turbulence along the ray path in the solar corona.
