An identification of V482 Cygni, a R Coronae Borealis star, with a quadruple system containing a K5 III star is rejected. High-resolution spectra show that the radial velocity of V482 Cyg and the K5 III star differ by 35 km/s, and the interstellar NaD lines are much stronger in the spectrum of V482 Cyg. These observations suggest that V482 Cyg is much more distant than the K5 III star and has an absolute magnitude of M(V) about -5, similar to that of R Coronae Borealis stars in the LMC.
