Averaged equations are derived for the motion of an asteroid orbiting near a corotation. While these equations are valid in a larger region of the phase space, they may be studied analytically only when the coefficients of the asymmetric averaged expansion of the disturbing function are taken as constants (i.e., in the immediate neighborhood of corotations). The results are generally in good agreement with data in the literature. Some limitations of the theory proposed here are examined.
