It is suggested that the anomalous component of neutron-rich xenon isotopes contained in carbonaceous chondrites may be a fission product resulting from the decay of extinct Cm-250 and, to a lesser extent, Cm-248. To explain the anomalous component in this framework, it must be assumed that these relatively short-lived actinides were incorporated into the grains in the vicinity of their supernova genesis prior to decay and that the grains together with their trapped anomalous component were incorporated intact into the meteorites. The Cm-250 content of the grains is estimated, and catcher-foil tests are proposed which can unambiguously confirm or refute the present suggestion.-
