Using the stellar proper motions reduced from the observational data of Photographic plates taken with the 40cm double astrograph of Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, the distribution parameters and membership probabilities of stars in the region of the open cluster NGC6530 are determined on the basis of the maximum likelihood principle and given in tabular form. It is found from detailed discussion that the membership of the cluster is determined very successfully. The number of member stars with probabilities larger than 0.9 is 249 and few stars are with medium probabilities. Finally, the space motion of the cluster is determined and discussed briefly.
