The results obtained from new spectroscopic observations of the variable type 2 Seyfert galaxy Markarian 6 are discussed. The spectra are obtained using the 6-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the USSR Academy of Sciences. It is found that the short-wave components of the hydrogen emission lines discovered in 1969 by Khachikian and Weedman (1970, 1971) can still be observed in the spectrum of this galaxy. A decrease is noted in the equivalent widths of both H-beta and the forbidden lines N1 and N2. It is proposed that what are referred to as the type Sy 1.5 galaxies actually represent a brief phase in the evolution of Sy 2 galaxies.
