The consequences of the paradigm transition in plasma physics for cosmology are discussed. The essential differences between the old and the new paradigm are listed, and the ascendancy of the hierarchical model in cosmology is discussed. The possible conflict with the big bang model, which is homogeneous and seeks to explain hierarchies by means of instabilities, is emphasized. The evolution of a cosmic structure which, it is argued, explains the existence of the void in the Vaucouleurs diagram, is set forth. In this "fireworks model", the "protometagalaxy" explodes when it reaches the de Vaucouleurs limit, ejecting smaller structures which themselves eventually explode in hierarchical fashion. The cases for gravity or annihilation as energy sources for the explosion are outlined. Accepting the latter as valid, the stability of an ambic loud which synthesizes the Charlier-de Vaucouleurs hierarchical model with the Klein symmetric model is discussed.
