A study of the galaxy populations in small groups shows that Dressler's relationship between galaxy type and local galaxy density is continuous from the field galaxies through the small groups to the rich clusters. Regions in groups and clusters of similar density have similar populations of elliptical, S0, and spiral galaxies. The loose groups extend the relationship into the low galaxy density regime.
