The paper describes diffusion of comets in energy space by an expression in terms of nu(chi,t) which is the number density of comets at time t with chi=1/alpha (alpha is the semi-major axis). Green's function and a particular solution to the equation are obtained by using Laplace transformation, under the condition that nu(0,t) = 0. The Green function makes it possible to solve the initial value problems; a particular solution to the equation is such that the problem is not fully determined. However, if physically plausible additional conditions are imposed, a unique solution can be obtained.
