The problem concerning the instantaneous relative acceleration of two test particles studied by von Hoerner (1973) is considered. An investigation shows that for a completely empty universe there is no relative acceleration of the two test particles. It is pointed out that it is, therefore, impossible to determine the 'absolute rest frame' of the considered universes by the employed method.
