Investigations of gas-magnetic field interactions of an axisymmetric, isothermal corona conducted by Pneuman and Kopp (1971) and Endler (1971) are considered. It is suggested to solve the relevant MHD equations by an iterative procedure. The basic equations involved are examined and a description is given of the method of solution, taking into account the initial state, the closed region, the open region, and improvements concerning the values for the boundary of the closed region. Attention is given to the conditions for hydrostatic equilibrium between the open and closed regions for the case of a T-type neutral point.
