OH absorption measurements of the Trifid nebula were made with angular resolution 3.4 x 18 arcmin. Two spectral features were detected; the region where the strongest feature at the ray velocity 18.7 km/s was observed spatially coincides with the M20 SW formaldehyde cloud discovered by Chaisson and Willson. This cloud is a part of the molecular cloud adjacent to the supernova remnant W28.
