Results are presented for observations and data analysis of the occultation of the spectroscopic binary beta(1) Sco by Jupiter. Using the ratio of stellar brightness before occultation to that during occultation, values are obtained for the height, temperature, and density of the Jovian upper atmosphere. It is suggested that at least two fine layers with heights of 18 and 15 km exist in the upper atmosphere of Jupiter.
