A significant number of improvements to the Arecibo Observatory 305m telescope have been made within last seven years -- including improvements in telescope sensitivity, correlator response, observing methods, and data reduction techniques. This talk will provide a general introduction to the capabilities of the Arecibo system, including telescope sensitivity and performance, available receivers, observing procedures (both for on-site and remote observing), and data reduction options. This will be followed by a variety of shorter talks chosen to demonstrate the variety of observing possibilities at Arecibo, from Zeeman studies through radar imaging. The Arecibo Observatory is part of the National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center, which is operated by Cornell University under a cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation.
