The Observatório Educativo Itinerante is a 45 hours course dedicated to teachers of first and second level, which has modern resources for formal indoors teaching, but also can develope astronomical observations with modern telescopes and binoculars. It is mainly dedicated to teachers working in small towns in the interior Rio Grande do Sul and neighborhood state of Santa Catarina. Up to the present have been developed around 20 courses traveling more than 30 thousands kilometers and attending about 500 people. Tests of the type before-after used to evaluate the course efficiency are discussed and critisized on the basis of the results for more than 300 peoples. The main conclusion is that a 2 weekends course present significant positive learning results, but shorter courses can not be conclusively evaluated with the same type of tools.
