An X6.1/3B flare, occurring on October 27, 1991 near the center of the solar disk, was observed simultaneously by the Urumgi Astronomical Station and the Solar Tower Telescope of Nanjing University with five wide-bandpass filters and a multichannel spectrograph, respectively. The observations indicate that it is a white light flare. The circumstances of these observations and their preliminary results are given.
