Results are reported for measurements of the structure of the H2O source W51 M which were performed in February 1976 with the Crimea-Haystack radio interferometer at a wavelength of 1.35 cm and an angular resolution of 0.00038 arcsec. The autocorrelation and cross-correlation spectra of the source are presented; the source is shown to have a complex spectrum consisting of a large number of narrow-band features, the brightest of which are concentrated in the radial-velocity range from 55 to 72 km/s. Evidence that the emission from W51 M originates in three main zones of activity is discussed, and a complex structure is suggested for the emission region at 55 km/s. Four main features are found to comprise the spectrum of the interference signal for the region at 55 km/s. The observations are interpreted in terms of a model consisting of two compact activity centers separated by an angular distance of 0.020 arcsec and radiating in the respective radial-velocity ranges from 61 to 71.5 km/s and from 54 to 57 km/s.
