Twenty-four H2O sources associated with H II regions have been examined for circular and linear polarization. No circular polarization was found in any source. Approximately 25 percent have been found to show linear polarization in at least some features. The percent polarization in W75 S varied in the same sense as the intensity, while the position angle of the polarized radiation remained constant. This, together with the fact that 25 percent of the sources show linear polarization, indicates that the cross-relaxation rate of maser-level degenerate substrates via infrared line radiation is almost equal to the stimulated emission rate in many H2O sources.
