Interstellar Cloud, Interstellar Molecule - Orion Nebula

Scientific paper

Using the Daeduk Radio Telescope, we have observed J=1-0 transitions of 12CO, 13CO, and C18O toward OMC-1. The column densities of 1-5*10E17/cm2 and 1-3*10E16/cm2 have been derived, for 13CO and C18O, respectively, in the 11*11min. region centered at Orion-KL. The double isotope ratio 13CO/C18O was found to be larger than the cosmic abundance ratio by factors of 2 - 10 which may result from the chemical fractionation effect.
