Variations of H-alpha emission profile have been obtained for the long-period variable Chi Cyg during one cycle. Intensities, equivalent widths, and relative shifts of the emission line were measured. Before maximum light the H-alpha profile consisted of two components which existed for no longer than 10 days. Some explanations of that fact are discussed. The H-alpha luminosity of the star changed from 6.7 by 10 to the 32nd power erg/sec at maximum to no more than 10 to the 31st power erg/sec at minimum light.
