HH 80N is the northern counterpart of the brightest Herbig-Haro objects known, HH 80-81. A massive (~ 20 M_sun) and large (~ 0.2) dense clump was found ahead of HH 80N. This core appears to be contracting at supersonic infall velocities and it harbors a very young protostar which is powering a bipolar outflow. Observations of several molecular species reveals an interesting complex cheistry within the core, which may be caused by the UV photons coming from HH 80N. All thses features make this region an interesting target to study. We propose to observe several deuterated species as a probes for the high density gas, in order to understand this peculiar core
