A search for stellar SiO maser emission at 43 GHz is discussed for which the receiving equipment was arranged to detect both the v = 1, J = 1-0 and the v = 2, J = 1-0 transitions simultaneously. Ten previously unknown SiO stars were discovered, one other was possibly detected, and all previously detected SiO masers were also observed in order to determine how their spectra had varied as well as to obtain v = 2, J = 1-0 spectra for the complete sample of known objects. It is found that all but one of the newly discovered sources have known H2O emission, the radial velocity of the SiO emission is usually close to the H2O velocity, and the profiles of many of these sources apparently vary on a time scale as short as a few days. Essentially all the previously known sources are shown to have varied, especially NML Tau, Omicron Ceti, Orion A, R Leo, VX Sgr, VY CMa, and W Hya.
