Earth Atmosphere: Oscillations, Earth Atmosphere: Photometry

Scientific paper

Synchronous oscillations of atmospheric transparency were detected in brightness measurements of two stars separated by 20 arcmin in the frequency range from 0.05 to 1.4 Hz. Observations were obtained with the high-speed two-star photometer. The phase shift between harmonics in two channels is 0.32 s. The authors suppose that the oscillations observed are caused by infrasound waves travelling in the atmopsheric wave guide at the height of 17 km.
