Redshift and photoelectric observations are presented and the dynamical parameters for the core region are redetermined for the cluster CA 0340-538. The redshift observations are compared with those of Havlen and Quintana (1979) and it is found that eleven galaxies are in common with the sample of the latter. For the other nine there is a formal mean difference of 66 plus or minus 174, the estimated error being 130 km/sec. Calculations are given for the virial parameters and the mass to luminosity ratio. The possibility of a bias in counts of galaxies is examined, especially at faint magnitudes when background clusters may be seen projected in the sample area.
