High-resolution maps of radio 'head-tail', 'twin-tail' and 'bent-double' sources in Abell clusters of galaxies are presented. They were made with the Cambridge 5-km telescope at 2.7 GHz, with half-power beamwidth 3.7 arcsec in RA. Maps of 4CT 39.49.1 at 0.4 and 1.4 GHz, made with the One-Mile telescope, are also described. The spectral index variations across the sources are studied and physical parameters are derived on the assumption of equipartition of energy. It is shown that there is a need for in situ particle acceleration. Parameters for the intracluster medium derived from X-ray observations are shown to be consistent with those derived from dynamical considerations of the sources. The results are interpreted in the context of the twin-beam model for extragalactic radio sources.
