Scientific paper

Photographic observations of Comet Halley using the 50 cm Schmidt telescope performed at Dodaira Astronomical Observatory from October 19, 1985 through May 8, 1986 are reported. Exposures on a total of 116 plates for 42 nights were made in blue and red bands with a combination of filters and emulsions which is shown. The results of measurements of astrometric positions, the position angles of the plasma tail, and the coma sizes are given and discussed.
