Near-simultaneous soundings of backscatter, particle size distribution
and frost point were obtained in north polar stratospheric clouds (PSCs)
near the center of the vortex. The measured particle sizes and
concentration in type I PSCs tend to confirm earlier predictions based
on remotely sensed properties.
