VLBI maps of 3C 273 with high north-south resolution are presented. A
strong, nonmonotonic curvature is found in the jet at projected radii of
less than or equal to 5 pc. Measurements of the core size show that bulk
relativistic motion in the core is not required for consistency with the
observed X-ray flux.
