We examine the astrometric observations of planetary systems using Monte Carlo and other techniques to determine optimal observing strategies and the statistical significance of the results. We discuss how precision, sampling and baseline affect modeling results and how to interpret a statistical metric in terms of significance. Preliminary results show, for example, that even with high precision, modest sampling and a baseline shorter than one cycle result in considerable uncertainty in important physical parameters, whereas with the same precision and similar sampling, a baseline larger than one cycle narrows the uncertainty of the parameters to within useful bounds.
