Scientific paper

In the early morning of 12 April 1994, the authors obtained a successful observation on Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 by means of a CCD camera which is attached to the 1 meter telesope of Yunnan Observatory and has a view field of about 7'×7'. On the four CCD images taken at different times during nearly two hours, most cometary fragments and their motion has been observed. In this paper, the observation procedure and the data processing has been discussed. In addition, the measurement results of the fragments' locations and their magnitudes are given.
