No negative molecular ions have been observed in the interstellar medium so far, whereas many positive ions have been identified. The reason for the missing observations may be the lack of accurate spectroscopic data for negatively charged ions. Since OD- can be considered a suitable candidate for observation in space, its rotational spectrum has been investigated, and accurate spectroscopic parameters and rotational transition frequencies are reported.
