The equations for the oblique force-free pulsar magnetosphere are formulated and solved in the linear case. The total solution is a superposition of fundamental modes, subject to boundary conditions at the star. The eigensolutions are wavelike in the far zone. For a perpendicular oblique rotator, the resulting limiting polar field structure near the light cylinder is cusplike, providing a possible efficient emission zone. The integral of motion for charged particles constrained to move on the field line structure determined in the massless approximation, is developed in a complete but simple manner. We find that high energies may be achieved by particles moving on sufficiently radial or forward swept field lines in the near zone, as well as in the wave zone.
