The Type I SN Evans 1983 in M 83 has been extensively observed in low esolution with IUE. This Supernova was discovered about 10 days before its optical maximum and has been followed regularly with IUE from the discovery until it became impractical to observe it further. The results show that the light-curve develops in the UV much faster then in the Visual. Unfortunately, the spectrum of an OB-association in M 83 is fully mixed into the Supernova spectrum, It is impossible to disentangle the two spectra. We want to obtain a spectrum of the OB-association when the SN has disappeared completely. We want to make a short wavelength 16 hr. exposure of the position of the SN. The long wavelength part of the spectrum is going to be observed in an additional shift requested from the ESA/SERC allocation committee.
