In this paper the author evaluates separately the magnitudes of the induced and the intrinsic magnetic dipoles of Explorer 11 (Satellite 1961 Nu) needed to explain quantitatively and qualitatively the precessional motion of the tumbling axis as an effect of both the gravitational torque and the torque that the earth's magnetic field H--> exerts on the satellite. In addition, a good correlation between the first derivative of the frequency and the square of the component H⊥ of H--> normal to the tumbling axis averaged over one orbital period has been found.
