Optical and UV forbidden lines are some of the dominant radiative energy loss mechanisms in nebular astrophysics. Direct numerical calculations of their cooling rates are generally very time consuming. Computationally efficient polynomial approximations of important volume emissivities for various ions of C, N, O, Ne, and S are fitted and presented in the domain 1 ≤ log10(ne/cm-3) ≤ 7 and 3.5 ≤ log10(Te/K) ≤ 5.
