A method for determining the spectrum of solar cosmic rays (SCR) in the source is proposed which is based on the numerical solution of the appropriate integral equation using data on the SCR time profile near earth orbit. Methodological questions are examined, and the applicability of the method is illustrated by results for the solar proton events of May 28, 1972, August 7, 1972, and September 7, 1973.
