In this paper we present the development of a dynamical simulator for the DARWIN imaging mode and the first results obtained from it. After a rationale for the development in the introduction, we will clarify the level of detail to which the simulator represents actual behaviour. Then, for a certain chosen test flight, the results will be presented and discussed. We will show that system performance in terms of accuracy is mostly limited by measurement accuracy. Not much effort was spent on control strategy, which might be worth the investment, as will be shown.
