The general behavior of nonlocal convection is inspected in the frame of the statistical theory for some typical stellar convection zones, with both the approaches of analytical asymptote and numerical simulation. The dependence of the auto- and cross-correlation of turbulent velocity and temperature on the superadiabatic temperature gradient and the effective Peclet number, and their evolution with time are studied in detail. The overshooting zones are very extensive. The convective energy transport, however, is negligible in these zones. The local treatment of convection provides a good approximation for describing the behavior of turbulent convection in the interior of extensive convective instable zones. The time scale of developing convective instability is far less than the evolutionary one.
