Numerical models are developed for protogalactic eddies generated by the passage of large-scale shock fronts during the nonlinear growth phase of gravitational instability in an expanding early universe. The postshock vortex-velocity configurations are determined and the radial distribution of angular momentum K is studied; K will be large enough to account for the rapid rotation of spiral galaxies.
