This paper numerically models efficiency of wavefront-distortion compensation of an annular laser beam by a flexible adaptive mirror in the presence of limitations on the amount of deformation of its surface as well as the efficiency of wavefront reconstruction by means of a Hartmann-type wavefront sensor with different spacings of the grid at the intersections of which its inclination is to be measured and with different local inclination measurement accuracies. Based on these calculations, it is possible to determine the requirements on the wavefront sensor in terms of the size of the grid spacing and the accuracy of the measurements of the local wavefront angle for which the possible efficiency of the adaptive mirror being considered will be unrestricted. The calculation method can be used in other cases as well.
