The physical libration of the moon is investigated analytically by means of a numerical model based on Cassini's laws, which relate the orbital and rotational motion in a first approximation. The model equations are integrated, for a 6000-d period and the results are compared with those obtained using the semianalytical theoretical model of Eckhardt (1981) in graphs. The need to correct the initial conditions of the libration equations and improve the accuracy of the numerical integration procedures (and hence of the coordinates of the moon's center of mass) in the present numerical method is indicated.
