A computer model of laser modification of ceramic surfaces is created. The particle distribution in ceramics with various temperature gradient of the surface tension by heating with both continuous and pulsed laser beam has been determined. The computer simulations show significant influence of the Marangoni effect on both particle and temperature distribution within the melt pool in case of High-temperature ceramics. The enthalpy-porosity technique for describing the liquid-solid phase change process has been implemented for the modeling as well.
