We present an implementation of ionization in order to study triggered star formation at the edge of HII regions. Our module is coupled with the grid-based hydrodynamic code Heracles. The geometry can be either plan-parallel or spheric, in one two or three dimensions. Cooling and heating of the gas due to ionization and recombination is explicitly treated allowing detailed studies of the thermal evolutions of HII regions. We present first tests of our method and discuss the effects of heating and cooling on these simple situations.
