It is shown that the nucleosynthesis of light-element isotopes and isotopic anomalies observed in meteorites can be explained in the light of a single process: the irradiation of matter ejected from a supernova envelope by fast particles accelerated at the shock front. The irradiation parameters clearly point to the explosive nature of the generation of these accelerated particles. Short periods of radionuclides yielding the isotopic anomalies are evidence of the fact that dust condensation in the protosolar nebula began approximately 20 years after the explosion of a neighboring supernova.
