We report on the experimental results of the effect of proton radiation on the performance of quantum well infrared photodetectors. A range of energies from 0.8 to 10 MeV and a range of fluences from 10(superscript 12) to 10(superscript 16) cm(superscript -2) were used. The detector performance are characterized by its responsivity becomes progressively worse with increasing fluence. For the same fluence, lower energy causes more damage to the detector.
