The NOvA experiment will study sub-dominant νμ<-->νe oscillations using two detectors with 810 km long-baseline. The NuMI beam energy spectrum is measured by the near detector located at the same off-axis angle at FNAL where the effects of neutrino oscillations are negligible. Contamination of NC background to the νe CC, and νμ CC interaction cross-sections are also studied by the near detector with the high performance of particle identifications.
