The photometric and spectrographic features of the Nova in Cygnus, its discovery in 1975 by Japanese and Polish astronomers, and a Canadian Copernicus Spectrograph employed in observations of the event are described. The first six weeks of the Nova's evolution are reviewed and light-curves are presented. The possibility that the object is a supernova, or a virgin nova (experiencing its first outburst), is considered. Emission lines of four-fold structure and the brightness variations of this unusually fast Nova are examined. The expansion of the Nova shell in the initial evolutionary phase is analyzed.
